Man faces court over axe attack
A man accused of an axe-wielding rampage in Bedford hospital has appeared in court
A man is due to appear in court accused of attacking a hospital reception desk with an axe.
Derek Hunt, 46, of Beechdale Road, Bedford, is charged with criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon after an incident at the accident and emergency department of Bedford Hospital just before 7am on Thursday.
Police were called after he allegedly used an axe to smash cameras and the security glass protecting the reception desk in the accident and emergency department.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
Hunt is due to appear at Bedford Magistrates' Court.
