Little miss angry
Anger is a perfectly normal emotion – it's a safety valve for feelings of frustration and fear, or anxiety. There continues to be a cultural taboo around expressing anger: it contradicts the notion that we are civilised human beings, and can be unpredictable, frightening, and have serious consequences for our relationships, jobs, and other areas of our lives.
It's often assumed that, because women are 'emotional' creatures, they are in touch with their feelings. But it's often not the case. Women suffer as much as men when it comes to managing angry feelings. But, after centuries of social conditioning, women tend to repress anger, which leads to confrontation, passive-aggressive behaviour, or depression.
But there's no reason to live with angry feelings any longer – our guide will help you calm down in the face of fury.
